Ms. Beena. I. Arora,
- Associate professor, Head ,Department of Chemistry.

Ms. Beena I. Arora graduated with first class honors from Mumbai University, in the year 1979. She completed D.M.L.T. from G. S. Medical College Parel in 1980. She completed her post graduation from Mumbai University with inorganic chemistry with first class in the year 1983. She was a rank holder at M. Sc. At present procuring Ph.. D. in Chemistry from University of Mumbai under the guidance of Dr. R. S. Lokhande her doctoral work is on “Solvent extraction and spectrophotometric determination of Fe(III), Co(II). Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(III) ions using Schiff base.” She has been a lecturer at MD College Mumbai from 1984. Her teaching experience spans is 27 years, during which she has taught inorganic chemistry, applied chemistry, industrial chemistry and analytical chemistry. She has been the resource person for chemistry workshop for the revised syllabus in Mumbai University. She is syllabus committee of University of Mumbai & St. Xavier’s College, Inorganic Chemistry.

She is a recognized post graduate teacher. She has presented papers in national seminars and conferences. She has completed one minor research projects as co-investigator with financial support from Mumbai University.
 


Dr. Anna R Anthony,
- Associate professor, Department of chemistry.

Dr. Anna R Anthony graduated with 3rd rank from Calicut University, Kerala, in the year 1984. She completed her post graduation with first class from the same university with Inorganic chemistry as her elective subject, in the year 1986. She qualified GATE examination in the year 1986. She obtained her doctoral degree in Chemistry from Indian Institute Of Technology, Mumbai, in the year 1993.Her doctoral work was on “Synthesis of organometallic complexes with Tellurium ligands “.She has been a lecturer at MD College Mumbai from 1992. In the same year she has been elected as member of American chemical Society. Her teaching experience spans to 20 years, during which she has taught inorganic chemistry, applied chemistry industrial chemistry and analytical chemistry. She has been the resource person for chemistry workshop for the revised syllabus in Mumbai University.

She is a recognized post graduate teacher and a research guide. She has presented several papers in national seminars and conferences and presented one paper in international conference. She has few papers to her credit in international journals and recently one paper is accepted in national journal for publication. She has completed one minor research project with financial support from Mumbai University.


Dr. (Ms.) M. D. Kulkarni,
- Associate professor, Department of chemistry.

Dr.(Ms.)M. D. Kulkarni graduated with first class from Mumbai University, in the year 1987. She completed her post graduation from the same university with organic chemistry with second rank in the year 1989. She qualified NET examination in the same year. She obtained her doctoral degree in Chemistry from University of Mumbai, in the year 1996. Her doctoral work was on “Synthetic studies on Danomycinone and its structural analogues.” She has been a lecturer at MD College Mumbai from 1995. Her teaching experience spans is 16 years, during which she has taught organic chemistry, applied chemistry industrial chemistry and analytical chemistry. She has been the resource person for chemistry workshop for the revised syllabus in Mumbai University.

She is a recognized post graduate teacher and a research guide. She has presented papers in national seminars and conferences. She has completed two minor research projects with financial support from Mumbai University.
She is commissioned as Leutent with A’ Grade and third rank and working as Associate NCC Officer(ANO) of M. D. College girls NCC wing, 5 MAH GIRLS BN, NCC, Mumbai since 2004


Dr. Amol H. Naik,
- Assistant Professor, Department of chemistry.

Dr. Amol H. Naik graduated with first class from University of Mumbai, in the year 1998. He completed his post graduation from the same university in Physical Chemistry with First class, in the year 2001. He obtained his doctoral degree in Chemistry from University of Mumbai, in the year 2007. His doctoral work was on “Physico-chemical investigation on sodium zirconium phosphate(NZP) based ceramics” He worked as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at B.A.R.C. on the project “Disposal of High Level
Nuclear waste in Sodium Zirconium Phosphate and it’s cation substituted derivatives.” sponsored by DAE-BRNS. During his Ph. D. tenure he was also involved in the fabrication of various thermal instrument and heating systems. He received “Gold Medal” for the Essay on “Application of Thermal Analysis Techniques in Industries” He published four papers in international journals and presented three papers in international conferences. He also worked as co-investigator on one project sponsored by University of Mumbai. He worked as Lecturer for UG and PG in various Colleges of University of Mumbai. He also work as demonstrator cum lecturer at engineering college. He joined M. D. College in the year 2009 as Assistant Professor .
 


Ms. Varsha V. Thorat,
- Assistant professor, Department of chemistry.

Ms. Varsha V. Thorat graduated with first class from Mumbai University, in the year 1996. She completed her post graduation from the same university with Analytical chemistry securing first class , in the year 1998. She qualified the UGC-SET examination in the year 1999. She has been a lecturer at M.D. College Mumbai since July 2000. Her teaching experience spans to 11 years, during which she has taught analytical chemistry, applied chemistry and industrial chemistry. Presently she is pursuing Ph.D. from Institute of Science, University of Mumbai.
She is also recognized post graduate teacher. She has presented several papers in national seminars and conferences and presented one paper in international conference. Recently one paper is accepted in national journal for publication. She has worked as a co-investigator in one minor research project with financial support from Mumbai University.


Mr. B. T. Nikam,
- Assistant professor, Department of chemistry.

Mr. B. T. Nikam graduated with first class with distinction from University of Pune, in the year 1994. He completed his post graduation from the same university with Organic chemistry securing first class , in the year 1996. He qualified the UGC-SET examination in the year 1997. He worked as Lecturer for UG and PG in various Colleges of North Maharashtra University and University of Mumbai. He joined M. D. College as Assistant Professor from Nov. 2006.
He is recognized post-graduate teacher ( by papers). Worked as visiting faculty for post-graduate courses at The Institute Of Science Mumbai. Invited as speaker for NET/SET workshop and have interest in the guiding student for the same and for M. Sc. Projects. He completed one minor research project funded by university of Mumbai. Pursuing Ph.D. in Catalysis and area of interest in research is Organic synthesis, Nanotechnology and Catalysis.
 


Mr. S. R. Pawar,
- Associate Professor, Department of chemistry

Mr. S. R. Pawar graduated in chemistry from Pune University, in the year 1984. He completed his post graduation from the same university with Physical chemistry securing first class , in the year 1987. He was appointed as lecturer in the year 1988 at S. G. Patil College , Sakari, Distric Dule. He has been a lecturer at M.D. College Mumbai since 1999. His teaching experience spans to 23 years, during which he has taught Physical & Analytical chemistry He is also recognized post graduate teacher in Physical chemistry. He has completed required number of orientation and refresher programs.


 


Mr. A. V. Nagvekar,
 - Assistant Professor, Department of chemistry.

Mr. A. V. Nagvekar graduated in chemistry from University of Mumbai, in the year 1976. He completed his post graduation from the same university with Physical chemistry securing in the year 1978. He has completed D. H. E. in the year 1983 from University of Mumbai. He has been a lecturer at M.D. College Mumbai since 1985. His teaching experience spans to 26 years, during which he has taught Physical & Analytical chemistry. He is also recognized post graduate teacher in Physical Chemistry. He has completed required number of refresher programs.

A Farewell was arranged for the outgoing T.Y.B.Sc. students by the chemistry teaching staff.
