The Commerce Circle Inaugurated its activities for the academic year 2008-09 with the inspiration & guidance from ShriSudhakar Kamble, Sr. Sub-Inspector Police & Shri V.P.Rajan, Sr.Income Tax Officer(Retd.).

 

Organised an intercollegiate faculty workshop on ‘Case Studies’ for the subject of Business Development at F.Y.B.Com. examinations.

Shri S.Kamble emphasized the importance of commerce education in the changing economic scenario. Shri V.P. Rajan discussed the issues that ought to be considered and resolved with the onset of the economic debacle. 


It was a one day workshop attracting deliberations from the learned and experienced teachers of several colleges.  The teachers discussed, debated, argued and refuted amongst themselves the urgency to draft the question paper.

 The Commerce Circle Inaugurated its activities for the academic year 2009-10.


A National level seminar on ‘Trade – an Elixir for Better Society’ was conducted by the Commerce Faculty in co-ordination with Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce Industry & Agriculture arguing that trade bears huge potentials only one such potential is economic advancement ability to liberate a soul of its human bondage.  The seminar was inaugurated by Commander Mohan Gidwani.



Organised a Debate competition on ‘Should youth participate in politics or not’ and ‘Terrorism – Who is responsible?’ for all the  students

 It took place under the inspiration of Shri Dilip Phadke, Board of Studies Chairman, Accountancy. 

Several sessions being chaired by Industry leaders and hardcore academicians.  Several papers were exhaustively discussed ranging from economic to social and ethical to political.  The Convenor of the seminar was Dr. T.P. Ghule, V.P. (Commerce) and Co-Convenor Dr. C.S. Panse, V.P. (Science).




The topic selection was done by the F.Y.B.Com. students – Ajinkar, Madhuri, Mayur & Prathamesh.  The judges were Dr. Geeta Manjrekar, Dr. Kishan Pawar & Prof. Priya Parkar.

 The Commerce Circle organized a programme ‘Critical apprecia-tion of  T.V.Advertising’. S.Y.B.

Com. (Div.A) students Aparna S. Acharekar & Sunita C. Kolge edited T.V. commercials of different consumer goods and services.  The objective of this programme was to being out practical approach and to make learning students centric.  It was an attempt to use audiovisual techniques alongwith chalk and board method.

 

A State Level Inter Disciplinary seminar on ‘Ecotourism on Indian perspective’ was conducted in co-ordination with WWF India and Depts. of Zoology, Botony & Commerce.

The Convenors were Dr. C.S. Panse & Co-Convenor Dr. T.P. Ghule, V.P. Commerce.

 

 

Prof. V. Saini of Business Law (Faculty of Commerce) along with Dept. of Psychology  organized a National seminar on ‘White collar crime and personality’  in collaboration with Indian Merchants Chamber & Central Bank of India.

                                             

Prof. Ms. Monica Verma (History Dept.) and Prof. Chandrasekhar Ghogre (Commerce Dept.) gave their expert comments and analysed the ads in detail from various angles. Students too actively participated in the discussions.

 

 

The objective of the seminar was to create environmental awareness about human responsibilities towards nature and to monitor market trends and opportunities with academic approach to ecotourism. 

The objective of this eminar was to emphasize that if our country is to take its rightful place in the global economic order there is need to address these issues, causes and identify the measure to prevent large scale ocurrance of white collar crime in our country.
